Prosecutors have sent a relative of Hwang Ui-jo (31-Norwich City) to trial in custody for allegedly distributing sex videos and threatening him.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division 1 (Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jang Hye-young) on Aug. 8 indicted Hwang's brother-in-law, A, on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Offenses (filming and distributing with a camera) and violating the Aggravated Punishment of Certain Crimes Act (threatening retaliation). Mr. A had reportedly been acting as Mr. Hwang's manager.

In June, Mr. A allegedly claimed to be Mr. Hwang's lover and threatened him by posting photos and videos on social networking services (SNS) that exposed his private life.

After the posts and videos went viral, Hwang filed a police complaint against A for violating the Information and Communications Network Act and threatening him. 안전토토사이트

He claimed that after his phone was stolen in November last year, he received threatening messages from A until May this year, saying, "I will spread (the photos)," and "It will be fun if it is released.

The prosecution, which took over the case from the police, conducted supplementary investigations, including interviews with officials and analyzing mobile phones, accounts, and calls, and confirmed that Mr. A distributed videos of Ms. Hwang's private life and threatened her to cancel the complaint.

"To prevent secondary damage, we requested the Seoul Digital Sex Crime Safety Support Center to remove the distributed video," said a prosecutor, adding, "We will do our best to maintain the prosecution so that the punishment is commensurate with the crime."

Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Department's Cybercrime Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate Hwang's alleged illegal filming.
