Lindor kept his promise.

"Francisco Lindor has kept his promise and bought Jeff McNeil (NYM) a car, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported on Nov. 21.

The promise between the two players dates back to May 2022. According to , Lindor promised his then-hitting teammate McNeil that he would buy him a car if he won the batting title.

McNeil, who was batting a whopping .348 when Lindor made the promise, saw his batting average plummet during the month of July, hitting just .208. By the end of July, he had broken the .300 mark, and by July 30, his average was down to .287. The car seemed to be going further and further away. 토토

But with a .385 batting average in August and a .337 batting average in September, McNeil finally got his batting average back up and finished with a .326 batting average to lead the National League in batting average, just one spot ahead of Freddie Freeman (LAD, .325). Behind McNeil's bat, the Mets posted a .623 winning percentage in 2022 and reached the postseason.

A year later, Lindor delivered on his promise. According to MLB.com, Lindor presented McNeil with a blue Ford Bronco SUV. McNeil batted .270 this season, the second-worst season of his career.
